School Aims

Stone St. Mary's Church of England Primary School strives to offer all pupils, staff, parents and friends the joy of being part of a Christian community. We aim to work in partnership with families and the Parish of Stone in order that all gain from the experience of a friendly, caring and worshipping community.

We are concerned with the development of the whole child: spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum to meet the needs of pupils of all abilities and enables all pupils to develop an understanding of themselves and their role in the school, local and global communities.

We are committed to an equal opportunities policy and will stand firm in the rejection of all prejudice. We strive to develop a community where mutual respect reigns, where value is placed on social and cultural diversity, where personal standards of behaviour and work are high and where all grow to recognise their responsibilities, both to themselves and to others.

School Ethos Statement

The school aims to serve its community by providing an excellent education for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds in the context of Christian belief and practice. It promotes Christian values in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and spiritual development through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

Our school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

Any behaviour on the part of children, staff, parents or carers, which takes away the self-esteem of any individual on the grounds of gender, race, social class, religious beliefs, language, likes, dislikes or different outlooks, is not acceptable in our school.
