Welcome to Stone St. Mary’s

Headteacher Welcome

On behalf of our school community I would like to welcome you to Stone St. Mary’s CE Primary School which I hope you will feel, like us, is a very special place. I, as the Headteacher, am extremely privileged to be able to serve this community and to work alongside a dedicated team. Our Christian vision ‘Caring Growing Shining Together’ drives everything that we are about at Stone St. Mary’s as well as our use of the African word ‘UBUNTU’ which means ‘I Am Because We Are’. These are both used by all stakeholders to ensure that we all, both pupils and adults alike, continue to have and use experiences and opportunities to thrive and flourish and to see and understand that these are better achieved as a team.

We are proud to be an inclusive school where all children and adults are loved for their individuality and uniqueness and encouraged to be the best they can be in all ways – this works to ensure that they are guided, encouraged and supported at all times to reach their potential and have high aspirations for their future successes.

About Stone St. Mary’s

Stone St. Mary’s CE Primary School is a three-form large primary provision which is at the heart of the community. It has three well maintained buildings all on one site and is well-resourced throughout. The school is blessed with very large grounds which are a mix of playground and field alongside a variety of resources added to this in order to enhance outdoor learning.

The school is very proud of its Church of England foundation and its links with the local church Stone St Mary’s situated a short walk away on the other side of the village.

We are a part of Aletheia Academies Trust. Our school promotes a safe, orderly, caring, and supportive environment. Each pupil’s self-esteem is fostered by positive relationships with staff and effective communication with parents. We strive to include our parents, teachers, governors and community to ensure strong liaisons with the community
