Parent Partnership

At Stone St Mary’s School, we are very proud of the relationships we have with our parents/carers. The school re-qualified for the Well-being for Schools Award in 2023. As part of our commitment to enhancing the relationships we have with everyone in our school community, we made the decision to work towards a 2nd award to further focus on our relationships with parents.

We are pleased to confirm that at the end of last year, the school was successful in gaining the Award Place qualification of ‘Leading parent partnership’. We would like to thank all our parents for their support and feedback to provide evidence to enable us to achieve the award.  We are very proud to have gained this award, our relationship with our families is very important to us and we will continue to look for ways that we can support our school community. If you do any suggestions for the school, please speak to a member of staff or use our suggestion box, which is situated at the school reception desk. Further information on the award and how we work with our parents is also available on our website.

We utilised  the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) to help strengthen our school’s partnership with parents. LPPA is a national award that has provided us with a valuable school improvement tool and also give us recognition for our commitment to working with our families.

We are grateful for your feedback and support over this year to enable us to work towards this award. In response to your suggestions, we have:

  • Offered parent workshops online as well as in person.
  • Set up a PTA.
  • Changed our ‘meet the teacher’ meeting to include clear expectations of each year-group.
  • Lengthened parent consultations and offering a variety of times.
  • Regularly invite families to share their cultures and heritage.
  • Reviewed home-learning to offer more holistic family activities.

These changes were all done in response to your feedback in the LPPA survey so thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute.
