Stone St. Mary’s Performs at Young Voices 2023

Stone St. Mary’s CofE Primary School joined over 8,000 pupils to take part in the largest children’s choir concert in the world!

Located at the O2, Young Voices provides a musical opportunity for primary school children to perform all styles of music including pop, rock, and folk.

On Friday 20th January, each school left to make the exciting journey; practising their beautiful singing voices in the coach before meeting the rest of the Aletheia Academies Trust family.

Saint George’s C of E Primary Phase, Rosherville C of E Academy, St. Botolph’s C of E Primary School, Shorne C of E Primary School, Cliffe WoodsPrimary School, Sutton-at-Hone C of E Primary School, Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, Cliffe Woods Primary School, Halling Primary School and Sedley’s C of E Primary School; were able to come together to sing alongside some of the most talented artists such as Heather Small, the Beatbox collective and Urban Strides.

For the last few months, Aletheia Academies Trust’s schools have been practising dance routines and learning songs such as ‘Proud’ by Heather Small, ‘Everybody Dance’ by Chic and ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ by Justin Timberlake, in their music lessons to put on the penultimate show at the O2.

Whilst it was a very long day, the children remained in high spirits and could not stop talking about how much fun they had, on the way home – it is definitely an experience that they will never forget!

Young Voices provides a fantastic opportunity for pupils to unify together, boost their confidence, and create lifelong memories for themselves, the school, and their families. It is unique educational material for the classroom which has engaged and inspired thousands of pupils thus far.
